WEDNESDAY 13/05/09
Our room woke up super late today and were rushing to get ready in the 10minutes we had. We were told to wear our new puma gear, bag and shoes so we knew we would be doing something active.
We were driven to Clarke Quay and walked around for a bit so I was still pretty unsure of what we had in store for us until we walked to what the girls told me was a reverse bungy. I’m pretty damn scared of heights but surprisingly I wasn’t scared about the slingshot so I went in the first group with jenny and Evelyn. I was pretty cool up until the point where they were strapping me in and I started freaking out especially when the man running the machine explained that we would be going 200km per hour speed and going twice as high as the massive beams on either side. It was definitely one of the most terrifying rides I’ve ever been on despite my eyes been closed for pretty much the whole thing. The feeling of being twisted and turned upside down hundreds of metres in the air was insane it was a rush of adrenaline so it was exciting but scary as hell at the same time.
After we’d all recovered from our bungy experience we had lunch and then headed to Jitterbug dance studio where we were told we would be taught to dance and learn to move with the rythym which would help us with our model poses. We met our instructor Misha who went through a choreographed routine which looked so damn cool. Misha made it look way too easy as she taught us the whole routine in small parts and we all seemed to pick it up after struggling here and there. It was hard though, once I’d learnt the first part and Misha was onto the next part of the routine I’d already forgotten how the first part went but I think all the girls were having the same problem.
Once we went through the full routine a few times misha split us into 3 separate groups and i was with Anna & Jenny. We had to design a routine where we walked on incorporating some dance moves along with our modelling poses and catwalk. We came up with a pretty funky routine and it was revealed that the winning group as picked by Misha would win a spa package. Each group performed their routine with the choreographed routine we’d all learnt and a freestyle dance session to finish off with a pose. All the groups were pretty good and each was fairly creative but our group was announced the the winner of the dance battle, I was so happy we won because I was desperately in need of a spa day and we all worked really well together so I think we deserved to win.
On the way home we had to drop Kathleen to the dentist because her tooth had cracked in half and she was in a fair bit of pain. I was quite sore after the whole day and my muscles were aching from all the the dancing and had bruises on my knees from sliding along the floor. We had dinner, confessions and a briefing for the next day so we were prepared for the big press conference the next day!
